Have been spending way too much time with Lisbeth Salander this summer. Mom gave me all three books this summer as a kind thank you gift. We could not get the first book from the library so Alyssa started reading the second book. Went to see the first movie version( Swedish subtitles) and got hooked on the characters. Have read the first and second book now. The second was my favorite. Alyssa and I reading the third and fighting over who can read it first. Alot of fun.
I read the first book about a year ago, but was put off by the sadism, and didn't follow up with the others.

And another reversal - after viewing the trailer of the Swedish version I thought, I can't watch a woman with a ring in her nose for two hours. The American movie (I'm guessing) preview looks so good I'll block out the ring. We suffer for art.
I did suffer through the Swedish version. In the past I had always been impressed with Swedes -they gave us Ikea and Abba- I even had wanted to visit Stockholm...No longer. Perhaps, hell is really cold...?
